How does it work?
The “Safe Worker” Qualification is delivered exclusively via a highly engaging, interactive online course accessed through the NOCN MyLearnAdFriend eLearning Portal website. There is no face-to- face sessions with instructors and no training material sent through the post. Learners can also revisit the training material at any time, even after they have completed the course.
The material for this course has been broken down into a number of bite sized tutorials, each one dealing with a specific topic and series of Learning Outcomes.
The tutorials consist of a series of pages in which the learner will work through at a pace that suits them. Pages may include supporting pictures, facts, true stories, graphics, animation, video or audio to help with the learning where appropriate. Most tutorials include interactive challenges to help the learner engage with the course material. These must be completed by the learner to ensure understanding prior to the end of course test. Learners can study the course at a time, pace and location that suits their needs. All of their work is saved so when they return to a tutorial the system lets them pick it up from where they left off. Learners can also review the tutorials as many times as they wish prior to the on-line test.
How are learners tested?
Assessment will be through an online test using multiple choice questions. Learners must achieve a 70% pass mark to gain a certificate of achievement.
Those failing to achieve the required pass mark will be given the opportunity to re-sit the test.
Maximum tests to be taken will be three.
How do I allocate the course to my learners?
Once you have registered and opened your account, you can purchase credits for the course. These can then be allocated to your learners when required by simply registering their details on the system. They will automatically be sent an e-mail with an invitation to join the course together with the access information. Can I monitor my learners’ progress?

The e learning course will be provided through the “NOCN MyLearnAdFriend” Managed Learning Environment (MLE). You can monitor learner progress through your account. Learner progress can be monitored from registration through to Certification enabling you to provide support where necessary.
How do I know if my learners have logged onto the course?
The system will automatically send you an e-mail every week. This will inform you of when your learners last logged on and how much of the course each learner has completed. You can also access progress reports in real time by simply logging on to your account and raising a progress report.
A more detailed learning record is also available to show you the times and dates the course materials were accessed and the progress made by each learner.
